Who is seeking your vote in local elections

Residents across the district will have their say on Thursday as to who they want to see representing them on their local council.

Seats are up for grabs on North Yorkshire County Council and for two wards on Scarborough Borough Council - Streonshalh and Esk Valley.

The results of the elections will be made available on Friday 3 May.

Anyone aged over 18 who is eligble and registered to vote can take part.

All 72 seats on the county council are up for grabs.

Elections for all the council’s 72 seats are held every four years
