Whitby sailpast for Britain’s biggest cruise liner

Britain’s biggest cruise liner performed a sailpast of Whitby as part of a 12 day cruise around the British Isles.

The P&O vessel, the Brittania, cut a spectacular sight as it came into view around the Whitby Abbey headland late Tuesday afternoon, much to the delight of onlookers .

Peter Horbury captured this shot as the ship entered Whitby waters.She had set sail from Southampton on Monday for the 12-night cruise around the British Isles including ports of call in Scotland, Ireland and the Channel Islands .

The special cruise has been dubbed a ‘lap of honour’, since Britannia has been designed a celebration of all things 
British.
