A 21-year-old man who works in Whitby has spoken of the scene of horror after he was caught up in the terror attack at the Manchester Arena last night.

Nathan Cowey was at the Ariana Grande concert with a friend when he heard a large bang. He said the explosion has left him terrified: "It had just finished, everyone was leaving and we heard this massive bang and everyone started running. I'm so shaken up.

"We didn't want to stay in a hotel, we got my friend's brother to come and pick us up.

"I was on the top tier when we heard a bang. Everyone was saying it's a bomb scare and I just wanted to go. I'm terrified, I haven't slept."

Police chiefs have revealed this morning that 22 people, including children were killed by a suicide bomber at the concert in Manchester last night.

Another 59 casualties were injured in the blast and taken to eight hospitals across Manchester.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm.
