A RABBIT has had his portrait painted by a Whitby artist in a competition run by the national charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Harvey, the Giant French lop-eared rabbit won the prize after his owner, Julie Harland from Longlands on Teeside, bought the winning ticket for a draw at a Pets at Home store.
Mrs Harland said: “Harvey has the run of the house and is house trained, with his own toilet.
“He loves his soft toys and likes nothing more than running aorund with his toy gorilla, being chased by me.”
Whitby artist John Birch painted portrait of the rabbit and presented the prize to Harvey and Mrs Harland at a ceremony on 12 March at Middlesbrough Pets at Home store.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People regularly have fund raising events in the Whitby area and has another fund raising event planned for Monday 25 July at Whitby Golf Club.
The annual golf event includes a full round of golf with prizes up for grabs.
It costs £120 per team of four and includes brunch on arrival and a post match meal.
