A GROUP of young Whitby farmers visited whitby’s lifeboat station last Wednesday to deliver a £500 donation.

The money was raised at Whitby Young Farmer’s 75th anniversary dinner and was received by RNLI coxswain Mike Russell, who said: “It is always a humbling experience to meet people who have raised money for the RNLI.

“Without their donations, both large and small, we could not carry on with the work that we do.”

The young farmers arrived during crew training night and they were shown around the RNLI station and Whitby’s two rescue boats, the inshore lifeboat OEM Stone II and the all-weather lifeboat George and Mary Webb.
