Lifeboat launched to struggling child

STAITHES and Runswick RNLI lifeboat was launched on Sunday (3 July) to reports of two children who had got into difficulty in the water at Skinningrove.

At 1.44pm the volunteer crew launched the Atlantic 75 lifeboat, the Pride of Leicester, and on arrival they were able to confirm that a child was no longer in the water, but was ashore with coastguard units and police.

On arrival the RNLI doctor was able to confirm the casualty did not require any further medical attention.
