A NEW scheme to provide low cost transport for elderly and disabled people in Whitby is being launched next month and volunteer drivers are needed.
Good Neighbours Community Transport’s Ring & Ride service will help them access essential services such as medical appointments, day centres and shopping.
It will run on weekdays throughout the year and full training will be given to potential drivers.
They have to be over the age of 25 and have held a full driving licence for at least two years. has an interest in driving.
Drivers will be asked to commit themselves for either a half or full day per week.
