A WHITBY fishing vessel was brought back to the port after breaking down on Wednesday.
Jon Whitton’s 10-metre fishing vessel, Never Can Tell-A suffered a fouled propellor half a mile north of Kettleness and contacted Humber Coastguard for assistance.
Whitby’s All-weather lifeboat was launched at 11.40am to assist the vessel, which had two people on board but was not in immediate danger as a south-westerly wind was blowing them offshore.
A tow was established at the Never Can Tell-A was brought safely back into the harbour at 1.30pm.
On the same day the RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was also launched at 4.30pm to rescue three people who had got cut off by the tide at Saltwick Bay.
