The North Yorkshire Moors Railway welcomed some special guests yesterday morning – the famous Chelsea Pensioners.

The former members of the British Army, who now live at a retirement home in the Royal Hospital Chelsea, enjoyed a trip on the heritage railway line to Whitby where they sat down for some fish and chips.

The Chelsea Pensioners enjoy an annual holiday in Yorkshire, thanks to the generosity of the Pontefract Conservative Club, also visiting attractions such as Eden Camp modern history museum.
