Biker hurt in crash

A GLAISDALE biker sustained serious head and chest injuries on Saturday after he hit a grass verge and crashed.

The 73-year-old man was on the road between Hutton-le-Hole and Castleton at approximately 6pm when he came off his blue BMW 1100 RT motorbike. He was airlifted to James Cook Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition. Police would like to trace two men who stopped at the scene and helped to lift the motorcycle, but carried on with their journey.

Two other vehicles, a silver Ford Fusion and a blue-green Fiat Punto, were involved, although at this stage there is no evidence to suggest any contact between any of the vehicles. Call TC Hammond on 0845 60 60 247 with information.
