One of the most ‘dangerous’ roads in North Yorkshire passes through Whitby.
The A171 stretch from Roxby to Scarborough has been named by police in the top five for motorcyle related fatalities.
Last year there were 15 deaths on the county’s roads compared with five in 2012.
On Tuesday, deputy chief constable, Tim Madgwick will host a live web chat on biker safety from 5.30pm.
He said: “Motorcyclists bring many benefits to the county both financially and environmentally, and safe riders are more than welcome. But what is important to us is that bikers return home.”
