SLIDESHOW: Memories of Whitby, 1997

This week, Gazette readers can cast their minds back to 1997 to see if they are featured on any of these photos.

We are publishing a selection of images here from the Gazette archives and this time, we are featuring one of the most memorable years in Whitby’s history - famous for the Endeavour visits and Whitby Town winning the FA Vase at Wembley.

The photos show people Whitby Rugby Club in action - they are currently on course to win the league title - a soak the scout event, testing a seat belt simulator and school pupils having breakfast French-style.

We welcome your old photos of the Whitby area and would be interested in publishing anything from school photos, sports photos, Royal visits, or perhaps photos of something which made the news.

You can pop along to our offices at the Ropery, call us on (01947) 829909 or email J-peg images of old photos to us at editorial@whitbygazette.co.uk
