Sainsbury’s helps keep Seals afloat

A partnership between local swimming group, Whitby Seals and the town’s Sainsbury’s supermarket has helped raise £2600 to help run the popular club.

Whitby Seals were the Sainsbury’s charity of the year for 2015 and young members took part in bag packing sessions at the supermarket while collection tins were placed in store and staff also held internal fundraising events.

The cash was used to pay for a new pool lane rope frame, poolside training equipment storage box, stop watches and other swimming training aids such as fins, hand floats and leg floats.
