Once again Robin Hood’s Bay prepares for a spectacular Victorian Weekend on the evening of Friday 2nd and all day Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December.
Queen Victoria will be joined this year by the Pearly King and Queen of Peckham and their entourage for a Victorian Weekend to remember.
Barbara Bilham, Chair of the Victorian Weekend Committee: “Robin Hood’s Bay Victorian Weekend will delight you with new entertaining acts and old favourites like our torchlight procession or meeting Santa Claus. It’s a great way to get in the mood for the festive season.”
Street entertainers and musicians, a Tea Dance and a Street Band, Ribbon Lady, Honky Tonk Man and Dr Busker, an Art Exhibition, Spinning Demonstration and a Magic Lantern Show, Treasure hunts, Talks and Ghost walks, Santa, a Duck race, Coconut shy and Splat the Rat, a Tombola, an Auction and an Arts & Crafts Sale, Victorian Geologists, their Fossil Road-show and cute Alpacas will make sure you won’t have a minute to spare if you come and join in the fun. And there will be more for people of all ages as you’ll discover in the detailed programme on sale late November for £1 (all proceeds go to support local charities).
If you come, all dressed in Victorian Costume, you might win a prize in the costume competition at the Old Coastguard Station. But you don’t have to come all dressed up to enjoy mulled wine and chestnuts. Visit the lovely Museums and cottages, sing bawdy songs or discover what Queen Victoria might have inappropriately smuggled on her person!
