TODAY sees the Littlebeck Garden Fete crowning its Rose Queen for 2011.

The children’s pageant will be crowning local lass 11-year-old Rosa Goodall.

Rosa has had a close association with the pageant for many years, having lived in the village and playing a variety of different roles in that time.

Her cousin Fred Stamp (3) lives with his family in Littlebeck and will act as an attendant alongside Ebony Hodgson.

Rosa’s hobbies include ballet and, most importantly, drama.

As well as looking forward to the pageant, she is also looking forward to starting secondary school at Caedmon in September.

However, it’s not just the new rose queen that will be providing family entertainment today.

There are attractions for all visitors such as raffles, games and tombolas.

Entry costs £2 for adults and 50p for children with all proceeds going to the village hall fund.

For anyone who wants to make a it a full day, a pie and peas supper is being organised in the village hall with money from it supporting the fund.
