The road racer injured in a crash at the Spring Cup races in Scarborough on Sunday has died from severe head injuries
Billy Redmayne’s girlfriend and his family took the heartbreaking decision to turn off his life support machine as he was also unable to breathe for himself.
The 25 year old soldier had been receiving treatment at James Cook Hospital after being airlifted there from Scarborough Hospital after the incident at the meeting’s flagship race.
It is believed he had been hit from behind by another rider on the back straight of the course.
It led to the rest of the meeting being abandoned.
