Remember your revised bin collection times

RESIDENTS are being reminded that bin collections will be changed over the next two weeks because of the Easter weekend.

This week’s collections will take place on the day before the normal collection day and next week they will happen on the day after the regular date.

Paul Thompson, Scarborough Borough Council’s waste operations manager, said that revised collection times were necessary to accommodate the public holidays.

He said: “The bank holidays mean many residents’ bins will be collected a day early.

”We are encouraging residents to take note of their revised dates. “Residents are reminded to have their refuse available at the boundary of their property by 7am on the correct collection day.

“Plastic Easter egg packaging can be recycled in residents’ blue bins or sacks along with any cardboard. “Please remember not to include any foil as this is non-recyclable and should be placed in your green bin.

“We are also encouraging those holding street parties to celebrate the event to try to recycle as much of their party waste as possible.”
