WHITBY’S Sue Ryder store will be embracing the town’s artistic talents as it aims to raise money for the charity next week.
Nationally, the charity is holding a Ride for Ryder event where teams do cycling challenges but the Whitby branch on Skinner Street is going for something more local as assistant manager Sue Chesterton is a keen painter.
Painting for Ryder will see pieces donated to the shop being put on sale and the staff will be taking over Beckett’s Coffee Shop next door where their homemade cakes and buns will be on sale.
Sue Ryder manager Jess Martin said: “We wanted to do something a bit different and thought painting would be a bit more fun. We are a small team and wanted to do something on the same street, maximise the space we have got and get out and talk to people.”
Painting for Ryder takes place on Tuesday, 10am-4pm.
