Election day with a difference in Sleights

Children and staff at Sleights School took part in their very own General Election.

The school electorate cast their votes for the party whom they felt had best ideas to on how to spend £100 to improve the school for everyone.

The event was held after pupils demonstrated a huge interest in the election process.

Three parties were formed with the children then working together to choose party names, colours, emblems and slogans.

Local councillor Guy Coulson then helped pupils write their manifestos before they were presented to the whole school.
