A five year plan for regenerating the east side of Whitby will be unveiled at a special launch event tomorrow.
Activities start at the Green Lane Centre between 10am and 12noon where there will be the official opening of new goal posts followed by football coaching sessions and a five-a-side game.
The main event will be at the Eastside Community Centre from 1pm where the plan, drawn up by local residents, councillors and community groups, will be unveiled.
It features ideas for more play facilities for children, activities for the young and old and how employment and health prospects can be improved.
There will also be displays from local groups who use the centre.
Tom Mutton from regeneration specialists Groundwork said: “The action plan has been done and everybody recognises there are things that need addressing through the public consultation.
“The health and unemployment statistics say the same, all the different organisations involved have said or acknowledged there are problems and we will get together to do something about it.”
