A Whitby man suffered head injuries after a collision with a tipper truck near Lealholm.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough for treatment after the incident which took place at approximately 8am on Friday.

He was discharged the following day.

Part of the A171 near the Lealholm turn-off was closed until around 10.45am while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Any witnesses to the collision are urged to contact Scarborough Roads Policing Group on 101.
