A BRIDGE fundraiser made £883 for the Runswick bay Rescue Boat

It was held in Hinderwell Village Hall where thirteen tables played duplicate bridge throughout the day with lunch in between.

The day finished with prize giving and a raffle.

First prize went to Betty Knudsen and Edna Rigg who won the Day Lewis Perpetual Trophy and bridge mugs.

Second prize went to Jeff and Joan Wragg who also won bridge mugs, Jenny Hunt won the prize for first trick won with a two, Mary Harland and Judith Whitlock won the nearest to 50% at half time prize.

The Chairman of Runswick Bay Rescue Boat Committee, Graham Naylor, thanked Karen Sewell, Jan Walker, Sue Cheeseley and Mo Metcalfe as well as the many other contributors and helpers adding that the event was a great success.

There will also be a series of events this weekend to boost the rescue boat funds.

A beef supper will be held tonight at 7pm and events in the bay tomorrow kick off at 10am and include beach cricket, raft building and racing, a beach barbecue and the unveiling of the Alan King Commemorative plaque.

On Sunday there is a coffee morning from 10am and a rescue boat display at 3.30pm.
