Members of Whitby Naturalists Club celebrated its centenary with a luncheon at the Saxonville Hotel.
The well-attended event included a three course lunch, followed by an address by chairman David Mintner.
Local history recorder Mike Yates, who penned a book on the history of the club, then gave a presentation reflecting on the past 100 years of the Naturalists in Whitby.
The luncheon was one of just a host of events planned for the club’s centenary.
The next is on Saturday 18 May from 10am to 2.30pm when people are invited to take part in a free soil and earthworm survey workshop in the Normanby Room at Whitby Museum.
