Whitby lost out by eight wickets in their North Yorkshire/South Durham Division One clash against a strong Middlesbrough 2nds.

The Whitby lads made a slow start and found themselves at 63-4 and then 91-6, with only Theo Clarke (43) impressing in the early stages of the innings.

Paul Buck added 31 further down the line as they recovered to a solid 200-9.

That tally wasn't enough though, as Middlesbrough passed their target with plenty of overs to spare.

Whitby 2nds grabbed a winning draw in their Division Two home game against Hartlepool 2nds.

Opener Joe Crowther struck 45, Finlay Morris 24 and Jack Lyth 43 as they managed a score of 161.
