Whitby lifeboat museum is run by 12 volunteers.
The building was formally the lifeboathouse until it was opened as a museum in 1957.
The museum has grown to contain an abundance of lifeboat material including models, paintings, medals, photographs, lifeboat kit and items from famous rescues. it also houses the RNLI’s gift shop.
The charity is keen to recruit volunteers, particularly for cover at the weekends.
Anyone interested in helping for a minimum of four hours per week is asked to call 602001.
