The countdown is on to Whitby’s glitzy White Lily Ball, which this year takes place at The Stables.

The popular money-spinner, on Friday June 6, will be compered by father and daughter act Reece and Seona, with music from the Northern Monkeys.

The event raises vital funds for St Catherine’s Hospice, Butterwick Hospice and Zoe’s Place.

White Lily funds currently stand at £1,800 through various other events, although it is hoped proceeds from the ball will bump that tally to beyond £3,000.

Organiser Lucy Bowes said: “It is going to be the biggest and best ball yet – we cannot wait!

“The Stables have gone to so much effort.”

It is not too late to buy tickets, which cost £40, although there are only a few left – call Lucy on 07795 562171.
