Whitby pupils back to school

IT was back to normal for pupils across the Whitby area today (Wed) after heavy snowfall had disrupted their education earlier in the week.

All schools were open again today after weather conditions improved.

On Tuesday (22 Jan), five of the district’s schools were closed to pupils due to the bad weather.

Egton School, St Hedda’s at Egton Bridge, Ruswarp, Lythe and Fylingdales all confirmed that they wouldn’t be opening the classroom doors.

But it was business as usual on Tuesday morning at West Cliff and Stakesby which were closed on Monday or had to shut early.

Airy Hill, Castleton, Danby, East Whitby, Glaisdale, Hawsker, Lealholm, Oakridge, Seton, Sleights and St Hilda’s schools all told the Gazette on Tuesday morning they were open as normal.
