Whitby Gazette Wedding Fayre was a massive success - VIDEO and PICTURES

MORE than 200 brides-to-be, their partners and families flocked to one of the east coast's top wedding fairs in Whitby at the weekend.

The Whitby Gazette's 2009 Wedding Fayre took place on Sunday at the Cross Butts Stables Restaurant in Guisborough Road.

It was held in a grand 64ft marquee in the grounds.

More than 40 stalls packed the venue which looked stunning in all its glory. Showing what they had to offer to prospective happy couples were photographers, wedding venues, florists, dress and suit shops, cake makers, a horse and carriage business and entertainers.

A fashion show featured eight models on the catwalk and was put on by Truly Beautiful, for the bride, and Duette, for mother-of-the-bride outfits.

Entertainment was provided by singers Reece and Fionna and there was a competition to win 500 of wedding photos from Fotoshop, of Scarborough.

The weather held out to make it a memorable day with people free to roam the grounds and see a host of vehicles that could be booked to get them to the church on time.

Whitby Gazette senior sales executive Heather Zink said: ""This wedding fayre was bigger and better than any we have had before.

"Special thanks go to the Cross Butts Stable Restaurant and to Mudford Marquees, of Nottinghamshire, who provided the superb marquee."
