Up and away for Castleton balloon race
A BALLOON race at Castleton Show has been announced, with luxury prizes awarded to the winners.
The Grand Balloon Race will see entrants release tagged balloons at the show on Saturday 11 September and the balloon that has travelled the furthest and is returned to organisers is the winner.
The deadline for returned balloons will be 10 December.
The star prize is a luxury weekend break in a Yorkshire Dales cottage.
Runners-up can win an acoustic guitar donated by Greensleeves Music and Rock Box of Northallerton, a 50 hamper from the Co-op or a full skateboarding set donated by Popcorn Skate of Northallerton.
Tickets cost 2 each and will be on sale at Danby Show and Castleton Show.
