Theft is bitter sweet

POLICE are appealing for anyone who saw people acting suspiciously with a wheelie bin last Friday.

They believe the bin might have been used as part of a sweetie theft which saw £50 worth of sweets stolen.

It happened between 2.30pm and 3pm outside the Zodiac video shop on Flowergate.

Whitby Police said: “It is possible the wheelie bin was used. When the person came back to the shop the wheelie bin was not there but then it turned up. They could have put the sweets in the bin, wheeled it off and brought it back.”

“Anyone who saw one or two people with a bin acting unusual up and down Flowergate is asked to contact Whitby Police on 101.”
