Spotted: large unidentified animal

COULD Scarborough be harbouring a mysterious black beast?

The creature was spotted prowling in a field on the Scarborough to Pickering road on Wednesday by Joyce Plant and Janet Deakin. Mrs Plant, from Gibsons Court, said they were convinced the animal was a dangerous black cat.

She said: "We were driving along and spotted it because of its size.

"It was lying down at first, then got up looked around the field and wandered away.

"It was too big for a normal cat and it's back and tail were too thick too, which is what has convinced us."
