Sir Nigel steams along picturesque rail track
ICONIC steam engine Sir Nigel Gresley will be puffing along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway this winter.
And there is still chance to catch a ride between now and 4 January.
The engine, one of only six of its type remaining in the world, returns to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, having undertaken a number of duties on the mainline railway.
The railway will be running from now to Sunday 4 January on each day, with four return services linking Pickering with Grosmont along the 18 miles of track.
Big, powerful and sleak, Sir Nigel Gresley is an A4 Pacific type engine and was built in the 1930s.
It was named after its creator, the chief engineer of the London and North Eastern Railway, and marked the 100th engine to have been designed by Gresley.
For nearly 30 years, the engine ran on the East Coast Mail Line, hauling express passenger services between London and Scotland.
Ticket prices range from 7.30 for a children's Day rover (all-day travel between Pickering and Grosmont and stations in between), to 12 for an OAP day rover and 14.50 for an adult day rover.
A family ticket for two adults and up to four children costs 31.
