THE “unexplained” death of a 47-year-old woman is being investigated by police.

The emergency services were called to a property on St Peter’s Road at around 11.30am on Sunday (24 February) following reports of a sudden death.

However, police do not believe the incident is linked to the murder of a 32-year-old man at Spring Hill Court on Friday.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At this stage the woman’s death is unexplained and a scene guard remains in place at the address as officers work to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Police are not yet in a position to identify the deceased woman.

Following Friday’s incident, Bagdale and Spring Hill were closed to traffic, but they have now been reopened.

A 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man remain in custody as police seek to discover the facts surrounding the incident.
