Ruswarp gardens open day
RUSWARP residents are opening up their gardens this summer for the village's very first gardens open day.
Chairwoman of Whitby in Bloom, Susan Davies, who will be opening her garden to the public and be serving home-made strawberry tarts, said: "This is the first time that Ruswarp residents have opened their gardens to show to members of the public.
"We hope the weather is good and people come to enjoy the afternoon."
As well as the gardens, visitors can also view a collection of classic cars and a display of photographs showing how Ruswarp has changed over the past couple of years.
A special raffle will also take place on Sunday between noon and 4pm.
Tickets are available from Mrs Davies' home, Hallcroft, next to Ruswarp Hall Hotel, in the centre of the village.
Any donations to Whitby in Bloom will be greatly appreciated.
Car parking is available opposite The Mart by permission of Richardson and Smith.
