Pupils celebrate Ascension Day

PUPILS from Fylingdales School have taken part in a special church service to celebrate Ascension Day.

The whole school joined in at the service at St Stephen's Church in Robin Hood's Bay last Thursday.

The children got involved by doing the readings, singing songs and all enjoyed an Ascension Day bun.

This is the second year in a row that Fylingdales' pupils have attended the service to commemorate the raising of Jesus' body to Heaven.

Assistant headteacher Jean Hutt said: "It is great to get the children involved in the congregation at the church."
