Residents of Whitby and the surrounding area will get the opportunity to quiz police officers on Wednesday (July 23).

Inspector Graeme Kynman from North Yorkshire Police who leads the policing for the Scarborough area and Sandra Rees, Community Safety Partnership Manager and Safeguarding Officer from Scarborough Borough Council are together hosting a live webchat.

The webchat will take place between 12pm and 1pm and Inspector Kynman and Sandra Rees hope to discuss issues relating to burglary, bike thefts and keeping safe in the Scarborough area.

Inspector Kynman said: “It has been highlighted that burglary, bike thefts and safety are key concerns to our residents, which is why we are working closely with Scarborough Borough Council to address these issues.

“Lunchtime Live webchats are a brilliant way of engaging and communicating with our residents allowing us to understand and answer their issues in a ‘real-time’ environment.”

To join the webchat visit www.northyorkshire.police.uk/webchat between 12pm and 1pm on Wednesday July 23.

Residents who are unable to take part in the live webchat are encouraged to send their questions via the North Yorkshire Police Twitter account @NYorksPolice #LunchtimeLive and #Scarborough, or the Facebook page www.facebook.com/NorthYorkshirePolice.
