Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances in relation to a woman who was found near the 199 steps in Whitby with serious head injuries.
A cordon which had been in place since she was found at around 6.45am yesterday morning (Thursday) was removed later in the afternoon.
Officers had been treating the incident as unexplained and while the investigation is on-going they now say they are not treating it as suspicious.
The 45 year-old remains in James Cook Hospital after being airlifted by the Great North Air Ambulance which had to land on the Abbey Plain.
Her injuries are no longer thought to be life-threatening.
