Police hunt for Staithes mountain bike thieves

Whitby police are appealing for the public’s help after the theft of an expensive mountain bike near the town.

The Orange 5 Pro 5 was stolen overnight between 7pm on Monday 17 and 1pm on Tuesday 18 February, from an outbuilding of a house in Dalehouse.

The £3,000 bike has a black and white frame.

Also stolen was a Samsung 43in plasma screen television.

PC Tracy Rogers, of Whitby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you were in Staithes during the time of the theft and noticed any unusual activity, I ask you to contact the police straight away as you may have vital information to help the investigation.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered either of the stolen items and urge them to get in touch.”
