PICTURES: Robin Hood's Bay May Queen
CROWDS gathered in Robin Hood's Bay for Fylingdale Primary School's annual May Queen celebrations.
The sun shone as parents, villagers and tourists assembled in the Dock to applaud the music and dancing from all year groups.
Each child carried a posy of brightly coloured flowers as they processed down to the Dock.
Outgoing May Queen Megan Straw, now an Eskdale School pupil, crowned this year's Queen, Hannah Wincote from Year Six.
She was accompanied by the May King Kieran Locker and attendants from reception class Izzy Hinchcliffe, Romy Holders and Lily Collinson.
A display of intricate sword dancing followed, as six of the youngsters carefully wove in and out of each other with real swords.
The reception class then gave a performance of the song Dusky Bluebells with a dance centred around the three attendants in their floral dresses.
The maypole dancing was a highlight for the crowd as groups of pupils from years two to six created striking patterns with the ribbons as they danced around each other.
There was also a number of sequence dances from children of all ages.
