A nurse from Egton is taking part in a gruelling ten-mile obstacle course challenge to raise money for cancer patients.
Next month Kate Sanderson will head to the Lake District to attempt the Total Warrior challenge which will take her across hills, rivers, mud, woodland and rugged lake district terrain.
Over the ten-mile course there will be between 25 and 30 obstacles - one of which includes a four-mile fell run.
Kate is doing Total Warrior to raise money for White Lily which was set up by local woman Lucy Bowes.
It is in memory of her parents who died from cancer and the money goes to Butterwick Hospice, St Catherine’s Hospice and Zoe’s Place.
Kate will be joined in the challenge by fellow nurses and doctors from the intensive care unit and geriatric high dependency unit at James Cook Hospital.
The challenge is over the weekend of August 3 and 4.
Kate said: “I did something years ago but it is too long ago to mention.
“I just thought if I was going to do something so challenging I should do it for a cause and raise some money. “And White Lily seems a local cause which so many people benefit from.”
