The Whitby Gazette is launching its new search for Pub of the Year in our great competition to recognise the best in our community.
We are asking readers to nominate the great pubs in Whitby town and also in the surrounding villages.
The pubs will be judged on the quality and range of ales, the atmosphere and decor, service and clientele mix.
Readers can nominate their favourite pub by commenting on our website story (www.whitbygazette.co.uk), or by messaging us on our Facebook page (facebook.com).
Votes can also be cast by Tweeting us (@gazetteinwhitby), or by completing the entry coupon and posting it to the Whitby Gazette, 17-18 Bridge Street, Whitby, YO22 4BG.
Readers will then vote on a shortlist and a judging panel will make an unannounced visit to help decide the best. Editor Ed Asquith said: “Our first Gazette top pub competition last year was a great success.
“We hope that even more pubs are nominated this year – and readers can choose the shortlist. Join in the serious fun by nominating today!”
The new closing date for entries is Friday June 13 2014.
Last year’s town centre winner was the Duke of York, and the rural winner was the Fox and Hounds at Dalehouse, near Staithes.
Make sure your favourite is put forward.
