Murder investigation underway in Whitby

POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a “domestic disturbance” in Whitby.

They were called to an address at Spring Hill Court on Friday night to find a 32 year-old Whitby man had suffered serious chest injuries.

He was pronounced dead a short time later by ambulance staff.

Police said a 23 year old woman and a 24 year old man had been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in police custody where they are being questioned.

A scene guard remains in place while police carry out further inquiries into the man’s death.

A police spokesperson said they are not in a position to release any further details at this time.
