Monthly town assembly bid for Whitby is rejected - COMMENT ON THIS STORY

A BID to have monthly town assemblies every month was defeated at a town assembly meeting tonight (Tuesday).

The assembly had been called after a request was received by the mayor containing a list of signatures asking for the assembly and calling for the vote.

But no one involved in gathering the signatures is thought to have attended the meeting.
