Make your own personal sketchbook at workshop
Staithes-based bookbinder Steve Iredale is running a workshop at The Moors National Park Centre in Danby to teach people how to make a personalised artist's sketchbook.
The event is part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios programme and takes place on Saturday.
Steve makes unusual books which combine traditional book-binding and paper-making with his interest in wood-carving.
Participants on the workshop will make their own A4 sketchbook decorated with marbled paper.
Silversmith Kate Sanderson will also be exhibiting at the Centre's Inspired by… Gallery on the day and is also opening her studio as part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios programme.
Kate, who lives and works in Kirkby-in-Cleveland on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, produces a range of jewellery and silver items including boxes and bowls drawing inspiration from the landscape and nature around.
Sally Smith, the North York Moors National Park Authority's events and exhibitions co-ordinator, said: "A sketchbook is a great resource for anyone looking to improve their drawing skills.
"An artist's sketchbook is like a writer's journal and can become a very treasured collection of memories as well as an inspiration for new work."
The sketchbook workshop costs 15 including materials.
Entry to the centre and to the exhibition is free of charge.
