Liz gearing up for
bike ride challenge
MOTHER-of-one Liz Dent is tirelessly training to tackle a Herculean bicycle ride from London to Paris this summer.
The distance between the two capitals is 213 miles as the crow flies; however taking into account the English and European roads the distance covered by the Aislaby cyclist will be considerably greater.
The ride will start next Wednesday and end a week on Sunday – and Liz will warm up for this by taking part in the Coast to Coast in preparation.
A passionate commitment to sport and a belief in worthy causes was the catalyst for Liz (31) in deciding to give the London to Paris ride a go.
Liz said the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is her charity of choice as “it is such an important charity, especially along the coast where so many things can go wrong.
“People take the sea and cliffs for granted when it is nice weather and forget about the dangers,” she said,
To date, Liz has raised 1,026 through sponsorship, car boot sales and a race night.
Liz has made a commendable individual effort, but would also like to thank all the local businesses which offered prizes for the raffle.
“They were extremely generous and the night proved a great success,” she said.

Liz is continuing to make fund-raising plans and is also making preparations for the Tough Guy Competition – a cross country run followed by an assault course – at the end of July.
