LATEST: Whitby street to remain open despite three-day road closure
WHITBY'S Skinner Street is still open for business, despite roadworks.
Shops and businesses will remain open while the one-way street is closed for re-surfacing today and tomorrow.
Business owners were notified in writing by North Yorkshire County Council that the re-surfacing of the road will take around 24 hours.
The road is closed to cars until Thursday but pedestrians can still shop in Skinner Street as usual.
* Tuesday's Whitby Gazette states the road will be closed to traffic for two days - this was correct information given by the county council at the time of going to press.
