Heartbeat fans flock to see star duo at book signing
Heartbeat fans flocked to a book signing in Goathland to meet two much-loved stars of the show.
Actors Tricia Penrose, who plays barmaid Gina Ward, and David Lonsdale, who stars as loveable village idiot David Stockwell, were signing copies of the book, Heartbeat – The Story Behind the Scenes, at Aidensfield Stores on Wednesday.
The two actors met a large number of avid viewers of all ages and various nations including a couple from Denmark who came to have their books and merchandise signed and hopefully talk with the characters.
Philip Hopkins, owner of the shop, said the event had gone "very well" adding that he had not expecting such a large turnout with well over 100 people queuing to meet the pair.
Both Tricia and David happily signed books and chatted to the fans.
Apologising for their late arrival, David told the Whitby Gazette: "We were stuck behind every tractor from Malton to here."
The last series of Heartbeat is showing on ITV after it was axed from the channel's schedule.
