Grosmont chimney is going, going ... gone

CAN any Gazette readers recall the brickworks at Grosmont, pictured here when the tall chimney was demolished around 1963.

On the south east side of the line Grosmont brickworks was developed but now long disused. Much of the brick kilns still survive but the tall chimney of Grosmont station is now long gone.
