Glastonbury style music festival for Fylingthorpe pub

A FYLINGTHORPE pub is hoping to create its very own Glastonbury when it hosts a money-spinning music festival.

This Saturday, the Fylingdales Inn will be putting on a feast of entertainment with bands and a disco for all the family in a bid to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the RNLI. Everyone is invited along to join in the fun.

John Higgins, who works at the pub run by Michael and Rachel Coates, organised the event, called Fylingfest.

He said: "We've got nine acts, including Austin Powers impersonator Brian Allanson hosting a Play Your Cards Right game and Jimmy Lupton is the compere.

"There's a bouncy castle, stocks in the garden and face painting. All the bands are playing for nothing so I would like to thank all the bands.

There will also be a barbecue with all the profits going to charity and a charity auction and raffle, with prizes including the chance to win a four-hour chauffer driven Bentley ride, donated by Paddy Newton.

"If any business or individual would like to donate a prize for the raffle that would be absolutely fantastic," Mr Higgins added.

"A lot of the locals support the air ambulance and RNLI so we thought why not raise some money for them?

"I hope we can raise as much as possible, really we would like to raise a couple of grand."

Confirmed acts for the festival include The Barber Band and Guests, Walking in Rhythm, The Bare Wires, The Yabbas, Alex Kirby, Panda Lasagne, Rocking Matt Partner, Cold Shot, Keith Newby and Keith's disco.

Events kick off from 11am and will go on until late.
