A teenage girl was taken to hospital yesterday (Saturday) after falling from a rope swing near Falling Foss waterfall.
The 13-year-old was found to have suffered head injuries after slipping from the swing, near to Midge Hall cafe.
The incident occurred at just before 2pm when Yorkshire Ambulance Service requested the assistance of Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team.
As Cleveland MRT were taking part in a fund-raising event in the area, they went to the girl’s aid.
After assessment she was able to walk to the ambulance and was taken to hospital.
The following day (Sunday), the Scarborough and Ryedale MRT were again on duty, providing cover at a mountain bike racing event in Dalby Forest.
The rescue team, which also covers the Whitby area, were called at around 10.30am to treat and evacuate a teenager who had fallen from his bicycle at a spot known as Worry Gill.
The young man had suffered arm and leg injuries and his condition was so serious that Yorkshire Air Ambulance were contacted for aid.
However, the teenager’s condition improved and he was taken to Scarborough Hospital by land ambulance.
Throughout the rest of the day the mountain rescue team treated other competitors with minor cuts and bruises.
